We want you to understand that everyone is unique and and so it is always better to understand the potential risks associated with mindfulness practice and the context of the training sessions you will experience.

Dr. Sandra McCutcheon and Mindfulness Skills4Life offers material related to meditation, mindfulness (online and mobile content) intended to promote self-awareness of mind and body by way of mindfulness practice and for general health and wellbeing purposes. The materials, courses and sessions offered are taught for educational purposes and are in no way intended as a treatment for any specific psychological or physical condition.

There have been rare instances where individuals with certain conditions (such as asthma, epilepsy, anxiety, or depression) have experienced adverse effects in conjunction with meditation. Users with pre-existing mental health conditions should consult with their GP or a healthcare professional before engaging in meditation practices.

It is also vitally important that you let us know, at Mindfulness Skills4Life, if you are experiencing any such conditions or have done within the last 1-2 years. We reserve the right to inform you that the training you have signed up for may be unsuitable for you at this time. If so, you will be contacted as soon as is possible to discuss this.

By engaging in any movement-based activities provided on our site, online or our in person sessions, you confirm that you are in good physical health and do not have any conditions that could make such activities unsafe.

Users with breathing conditions, including but not limited to asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or other respiratory issues, should exercise caution when participating in breathing exercises. It is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional before engaging in any breathing practices to ensure they are safe for your specific condition. Always have a charged inhaler with you if you suffer from asthma.

If you have recently or are currently experiencing a traumatic life event, including but not limited to, separation from a long-term partner, the death of a close family member or friend, or redundancy, it may not be the appropriate time for you to start mindfulness training. However, this may depend on many factors such as your support professional and personal support network, as well as the status of your mental, emotional and psychological health.

Again, we’d be grateful if you could let us know, in advance of training, if any of these circumstances is relevant to you. This will allow us to ascertain if it is suitable at this time to go ahead with starting mindfulness training.

All individuals engaging in training with Dr. Sandra McCutcheon and Mindfulness Skills4Life are required to sign a consent form to indicate that they have been provided with a copy of this information and have read and understood the information contained within and are 1) comfortable in proceeding and / or 2) would like to book in a ‘check-in conversation’ prior to any training / session commencing.
